Villu Movie Review FIRST ON NET!

The most expecting movie of the year “Villu” starring Vijay, Nayanthara in the lead is ready for release. Vijay is known for a hero of success as almost all of his movies nowadays are firm solid reaching hundred days even if the script has nothing special. After “Pokkiri” movies grand success both our Illayathalapathy Vijay and Choreographer turned Director Prabhu Deva is looking to give another hit with “Villu”. As the script suggests that the movie will be a pure entertainer.

Vijay is known for high expectation as when his movies are released you can see some huge crowds surrounded at theatres. Villu movie already released in “Singapore” and other countries and some of the song & scenes were uploaded in net. Due to curiosity to know about Vijay “Villu” movie I had contacted one of my friends at Singapore luckily he watched the movie and I asked him to review the “Villu” movie.

According to Nondikizhi the story is scripted as Vijay’s dad a trusty military officer who gets murdered by his colleagues Prakash Raj & Co-Villains. The goon’s then paint a picture that Vijay’s dad is a traitor and they strip his body because of this village people bans final rites of Vijay’s dad, his Mother (Ranjani) also tattooed that she is “Traitor’s Wife”.

Younger Vijay who grows up with his dad’s friend a commissioner who helps him to destroy all the villains. Purposely to revenge all baddies Vijay loves Nayanthara to get contact with Prakash Raj(dad of Nayanthara) and similarly with others. The remaining part of the movie is how Vijay takes revenges on baddie’s & whether he truly fell in love with Nayanthara or not???

Vadivelu comedy scenes are a plus to the movie but after interval it was totally missing. Vijay known as a dancer done his part well, Nayanthara is chic and glam throughout the movie and also tried some comedy sequences. Devi Sri Prasad composed some great tracks which were well choreographed. About Director Prabhu Deva he trust too much on masala than subjects anyway great dancer and a dedicated personality.

As a whole the movie is based on old revenge story with some newer inputs of visualization. As the Villu fight scenes leaked on net they were still giggles all around after seeing that stunt sequences. The movie is sluggish at some place even the normal audiences can identify what’s going to happen in the next??? I conclude that those who doesn’t like to watch any new things on cinema it will be a pure entertainer only to an extent.

Villu Movie: A Coverful Story

Directed by Prabhu Deva, Villu is an upcoming Tamil movie. Staring Vijay, Nayanthara, Vadivel, Biju Menon and Prakash Raj in lead role, Villu is expected to release on January 15, 2009. The music of Villu is launched on 15th December, 2008. The songs of Villu are very good. The songs are composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Villu is Prabhu Deva’s second film. Their first movie was Pokkiri which was released in 2007. Vijay is playing double role in this movie. One as father and other is son. Villu is co-produced by Karunamoorthy and Arun Pandian. After the box office hit of Pokkiri, India’s Michael Jackson and Ilaya Thalapathy has teamed up once again with Villu and their magic is sure to work on the audience. Prabhu Deva directed Villu, Vijay’s next action adventure movie Villu is releasing for Pongal on January 12. A lot is riding on the film, produced by Ayngaran International, for the Tamil film industry and Vijay.

Villu movie has Vijay-Nayanthara-Prakash Raj- Vadivelu . The film Villu is directed by Prabudeva. Nayanthara is being paired up with Vijay for the first time. Ravi Varman is the cameraman of this action adventure film, while music is by Devi Sri Prasad. Vijay signs off by saying, “The film is a roller coaster ride of pure unadulterated masala that you will enjoy”.

VILLU STORY :

Vijay’s dad was killed by the villain, and his mother needs an operation ! So he sells his land for his mother ! Inorder to take revenge, Vijay (Villu) has to go to America to kill the villain, but he has no money, no passport and no visa! So he decides one thing and comes to Chennai ! In Chennai, Villu climbs on top of LIC Building, gets blessings from Godess Kuruvi, and jumps from the top floor!!! But our Villu stays in air itself in same position! After 12 hrs, the earth rotates and since he is still in the same position, he jumps and lands in America! He kills the villain and returns to Chennai the same way!!!! Wat a man??!!

Villu Movie expected to Release on Jan12?

A number of films may be lined up for the festival of Pongal but the most expected film undoubtedly is Ilaya thalapathi Vijay’s “Villu” produced by Ayngaran International which will be released on the 12th of January. The combination of Prabudeva and Vijay has already tasted success in “Pokkiri” and the same is expected by audiences and the film industry. If some bank on the ability of Prabudeva for the success formula, it’s quite different with Vijay – the mass following alone works wonders. Due to this anticipation, Vijay makes it a point to don larger-than-life roles. Though the mass following ensures success at most times it has to be noted that certain of his films have met with lukewarm responses in the past.

Inspired from the Hindi film ‘Soldier’, ‘Villu’ has a strong story line suiting Vijay. A major plus for the film are the song sequences which have been tailor-made for Vijay. His combo with Prabudeva in the title song might just go on to be a big Pongal treat for his fans. The punch dialogues are yet another additional bonus in the film.

Nayantara, one of the highly paid damsels in the industry has paired up with Vijay for the first time and is desperately in need of a hit film. Her stylish dance, comedy sequences with Vadivelu and her love scenes with Vijay are certain to meet with the expectations of the fans. Appreciations have already started to flow, with director Prabudeva saying “She is an asset to the film and her on-screen chemistry is excellent with Vijay.”

Musical score by Devi Sri Prasad and the songs are reportedly creating flutters among the fans. Choreography is done by five choregraphers - Raju Sundaram, Shobi, Asok Raj, Baba Bhaskar and Dinesh.

‘Villu’ is all ready to hit the screens on the 12th of this month (ahead of Pongal). More than anything else the ‘mass hero factor’ of Vijay may prove to be the USP of the film. Without any semblance of doubt this is the film that is eagerly awaited this festive season.

Villu Censored Ready for Pongal?

Ilayathalapathy Vijay Villu movie already created huge impact among the audiences as the complete set of Villu album being in the hit hunt. Meantime the Censored board had cleared Villu movie with UA certificate in Chennai (Saturday January 3).

Villu Movie - A Review:

Villu is a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Soldier, which starred Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta. And it looks like Bollywood and Kollywood have entered into some kind of exchange program. While Soldier is being remade in Tamil as Villu, Pokkiri is being remade in Hindi as Wanted: Dead or Alive with Salman Khan in the lead. Well, it looks like apart from cricket, cinema also unites India.

Soldier had a storyline and elements of cinema that were perfect enough to make a Vijay movie. With Prabhu Deva and Vijay teaming up again, it will be presented in a very interesting manner like last time. The original film's story is about a young man who avenges the gruesome death of an army officer who falls prey to a conspiracy. It also showcased the relationship between a mother and her son and was built around the sentiments involved in that relationship.

Villu is being produced under the banner of Ayngaran International Films Pvt. Ltd. by K. Karunamurthy and C. Arunpandian. Nayantara will be the female lead.

Music is by Devi Sri Prasad. It is not only the director and hero of Pokkiri teaming up again, but FEFSI Vijayan, the ace stunt choreographer of Pokkiri is also teaming up with them. Ravivarman takes care of the cinematography of Villu and Kola Bhaskar takes care of the editing work.

Kushboo to dance with Vijay in Villu film?

Yesteryear actress Khushboo is sharing screen space with Vijay in a song sequence. This is for an important introductory song in Vijay's forthcoming film Villu.

The producer of the film Arun Pandian revealed this at the audio launch of Villu on Sunday. The function was held at a FM station and music director Devi Sri Prasad released the first audio CD of the film.

According to Arun Pandian the film is slated to release on Pongal as the day is considered to be lucky for the actor.

Originally the filmmaker was keen on roping in Divya to do the item number, but the actress made it clear that she will not do a one-song act again. So, actress Kushboo, a 'hardcore Vijay fan', was approached and the actress readily agreed to do the role.

Here goes the saying ‘Villu kku Vijayan’. It’s now re-written like ‘Villu kku ILAYATHALAPATHY VIJAY’. It’s no more a music director’s album when the hero is VIJAY. It’s a Vijay album with all his elements mixed into it as a cocktail to serve his fans in wholesome fashion. This time, the load of expectations increase manifold due to the presence of Prabhudeva (the blockbuster combo of Pokkiri). Pokkiri created records in Tamil filmdom and took Vijay and Prabhudeva to great heights. With Nayanthara and Devi Sri Prasad being the other starlet colleagues of this mega show, a small fall would be blown up in disastrous fashion. But when God is in your side, the rest of the pieces will just fall into place. Let us see how powerful this ‘Villu’ is going to be….

1. Rama Rama Raman Kitta – Amalraj, Kovai Sarala

It’s a very interesting start to the song with the use of jaldras and the drums. But the song then breaks into the usual ‘opening kuthu’ song mode when the singer starts ‘Rama Rama….”. Kovai Sarala then enters the scene with the highly catchy “VILLU VILLU VILLU VILLU VILLU VILLU VARAAN VILLU”. Gokka Makka, this line will break the eardrums of the common man to pieces when this song makes its appearance on the screens in Tamil Nadu. It’s just excellent and amazing use of beats and background chorus by Devi Sri Prasad. The tune sounds ‘already heard’ but the difference (and a big difference!) lies in the way the song has been presented. Vijay fans will not like it at all if the intro song (or the opening song) is not up to the mark and music directors find it tough to match the expectations. But Devi Sri Prasad DELIVERS… MASSSS……..

2. Nee Kobapattal – Sagar

It’s a typical Devi Sri Prasad start to this love song which features only the male lead singer. The song easily reminds us of previous Devi Sri’s hits but it’s pretty tough to pinpoint which song this tune resembles. DSP makes great use of the Veenai in the middle of the song. The singer (a newcomer it seems!) is perfectly adept at singing the song. It’s a very soothing song that has the power to appeal also to the classes with his peppy yet slow paced nature. The lyrics have been written with a lot of effort put in to convey the real mood of the song. A potential hit in the long run and could feature a lot on the TV with his picturization.

3. Daddy Mummy Veetil Illa – Mamta Mohandas, Naveen Madhav

A very funky start to the song with the background instruments and the lyrics that hit us a few seconds later really put us in a big surprise. The female singer here is actress Mamta Mohandas who is just brilliant, just brilliant. She comes in as the big surprise (for those who haven’t heard to her singing before!). Again, another very catchy tune (it seems this tune is one of the tunes re-used by Devi Sri Prasad from his Telugu compositions). The male singer doesn’t show up too much in this highly female dominated song. Great use of the beats and the percussions by Devi Sri Prasad which adds a lot of pep to this party type song which should find a place soon on the dance floors in parties and discos.

4. Are you Crazy – Divya

A fully fledged female number in a Vijay album? It’s very rare to see such numbers. The song is a big surprise with its predominantly English lyrics like “You country brute, I will slap you” etc. It’s very tough to judge the situation in which this song is going to be used. The lyrics seem to be written by Prabhudeva himself and this song (if it has repeat value) will take a lot of time to get used to. There seems to be a big pause in between the song and the same lyrics of “Are you crazy….” Keeps repeating again.

5. Jalsa Jalsa – Baba Sehgal, Rita

A rap style song that’s going to rock the dance floors for sure. “Sa RI Ga Ma Pa Da Ni SA, Ada come on come on say Jalsa”. The song that rocked with Pawan Kalyan in the Telugu film ‘Jalsa’ makes its Tamil appearance with the industry’s best dancer Vijay and one can only think of the impact that the song with Vijay’s dance will make to the theatres. AWESOME STUFF from Devi Sri Prasad (he has already got a lot of rave reviews for this song from the Telugu audiences) and it’s now time for the Tamil audiences to rock and groove to this potentially mega hit number. The lyrics in Tamil have been perfectly written to suit the style of the song. One just wishes that Prabhudeva choreographs Vijay’s dance for this song. IT WOULD BE WORTH THE TICKET ALONE! The female singer is adept, but the song is fully dominated by the male singer and come the movie’s release, it will be fully dominated by Vijay and no one else!

6. Vaada Mapilley – Tippu, Rita, Vadivelu

A very folkish type song that should probably feature towards the climax of the film. The song, which is the signature folkish kuthu number that now prominently in Vijay’s films, has some very interesting lyrics that should primarily appeal to the fans who should have a gala time with this song. Devi Sri Prasad makes good use of the guitar which is the pre-dominant instrument used for this song. Vadivelu makes his appearance here and there in what appears to be a “Maambazhama Maambazham” type song that became such a big hit in the Vijay-Prabhudeva hit “Pokkiri”.

7. Dheemthanakka Dhillana – Devi Sri Prasad, Divya

Another peppy song that has made its way from Devi Sri Prasad’s own Telugu compositions. A song that should suit Vijay to a T, the song could possibly showcase his amazing dancing skills. Devi Sri Prasad himself takes care of the singing (he sang for Vijay in the “Kanmodi” song in Sachein). This time, it’s a very peppy song with all the care taken for the song to appeal to Vijay’s huge mass of fans. The female singer provides good backup to Devi Sri Prasad. Devi Sri Prasad makes good use of the instruments which now can be called as his “forte”. This song is an instant hit and if the picturization is good, this song has the potential to go places.

8. Jalsa Jalsa The DSP Mix – Devi Sri Prasad, Baba Sehgal, Rita

An awesome remix to an AWESOME SONG!!!! Devi Sri Prasad rocked with the original version of this song, and now he takes the mike to render a rocking remix. It’s tough to say which one is better – the original or the remix. Personally, the reviewer opinion here is that the REMIX ROCKS! The rap in between the song doesn’t irritate and gels so well into the song. A sure shot chartbuster. One guesses that this song should feature in the end credits of the film (going in sync with the news that Prabhudeva is filming a happy ending song for the film in tune with the recent trend).

A perfect way to end an album that produces a variety of cocktail type entertainers that will keep Vijay’s fans thoroughly entertained. The album starts with the typical hero entrance which produces a huge thunder, and ends with the biggest thunder in the form of the Jalsa DSP Mix. Except for the “Are you crazy” song (and to an extent, the “Vaada Mapilley” song), all the other songs catch you up instantly and the album shouldn’t take too much in becoming a chartbuster. In comparison to Vijay’s previous film albums, this one is a wholesome entertainer and can be called as one of Vijay’s most entertaining in recent times.

Villu Audio Songs Launched Officially at Hello FM!

Villu movie had already created immense expectations among the audiences as the two of actor Illayathalapathy Vijay and Director Prabhu Deva teaming once again after smelling the monster success of “Pokkiri” movie. The Music Director Devi Sri Prasad launched Villu songs through Hello FM today Sunday evening. Villu movie songs are fully filled with peppy numbers and it would be loved by all kind of the audiences. Rama Rama song is more or less gets the feeling of a “Pokkiri Pongal” interestingly comedian actress Kovai Sarala also sings in the song by singing “Villu….. We salute the spirit and commitment of Prabu Deva. A day after the sad demise of his son Vishal, Prabhu was back on the sets of his Villu.

Prabu Deva who was shattered by the death of his son is trying to put back his tears, remorse and grief by throwing himself on his work.

It’s the best way to get over one’s personal tragedy. Recently after the Mumbai massacre, the Manager of Taj Hotel whose family was wiped out by the terrorist, preferred to stay on at work rather than go into mourning. It is a very tough thing, especially when you have lost your dear ones.

The Villu unit shot some patchwork to the climax and the Shubham scene. Later on a huge set at Binny Mills, the introductory song of Vijay was being shot. It was choreographed by Vijay’s opening song specialist Asok Raj, who has done many of his hit songs.

To be noted here is that the producer of Ajith's Aegan, Ayngaran, is producing Vijay's Villu.

Villu Vijay fights with Chinese Fighters at Bangkok!

Actor Vijay who leaves Bangkok for the shooting of Villu with his crew had planned to shoot some deadly action sequences. The movie is nearly 70percent complete, seeing director Prabhu Deva dedicated work actor Vijay praising him whenever he gets a chance.

The movie has planned three more songs and it is expecting to shoot at various foreign locations. Will Pongal will be a feast for Vijay fans?

Villu crew had returned from Switzerland and they are in Bangkok to finish the final shootings.

Vijay, director Prabhu Deva and a couple of fighters left for Bangkok to shoot a deadly action scene along with Chinese fighters for Ayngaran International’s Villu. Movie will hit the screen for 2009 Pongal.

Reports say he doesn’t turn up to the shooting spot as per his call sheets.For the movie Villu there is sequence in Switzerland with Vijay, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj, Sriman and Vadivelu but Vadivelu sent a massage through his assistant that he will not come for the schedule since because he is busy with another project.

As a result Sriman and Prakash Raj was sent back from Switzerland even after the producer London karunaas of Ayngaran International have requested him to They end up just shooting a song sequence with Vijay and Nayanthara. As reported that Vijay and his Villu crew was busy under lights with Director Prabhu Deva. The team Villu recently left Switzerland for shooting some song and stunt sequences. For the meantime Vijay’s father S.A.Chandrasekhar for his home banner V.V.Creations is directing and producing the film “Pandhyam” in which Nithin and Sathya playing the lead while Sindhu Tulani for a supporting role. The audio release is scheduled on 22nd of August.

According to a source from Vijay’s residence that Vijay is likely to visit from Switzerland to Chennai for this function for a quick time. Villu movie is making in a great pace and the shooting would complete within this year. Hope Villu will be another hit like “Pokirri” for Vijay.

Villu Vijay’s next director confirmed!

Ilaya Thalapathy is currently busy wrapping up Prabhu Deva’s Villu which is expected to hit the screens by the end of this year. As reported by us earlier, Vijay will be doing a film for his father’s V V creations and later a film for A V M. While the director and other cast members for VV creations are yet to be finalized, A V M was on the look out for a director with commercial value.Names like Perarasu and Hari were doing the rounds as they have the reputation of delivering commercial potboilers. However the mantle appears to have fallen on Babu Sivan who had penned the dialogues for Dharani’s Kuruvi. For Babu Sivan, this will be his maiden directorial outing with the popular star and the established banner. Heroine and other crew members for this project will be finalized later. Behindwoods wishes Babu Sivan all the best in his first film.

Upbeat Prabhu Deva confident on Villu Film:

Prabhu Deva is directing Vijay for the film ‘Villu’ and the dance master-turned actor-turned director is more than confident about the movie’s prospects at the box office. When asked if ‘Villu’ will be as successful as ‘Pokiri’, the director said he hopes it will be three times more vibrant than ‘Pokiri’.

When asked about big names such as Vadivelu and Nayantara in the film, Prabhu Deva said, ‘When Vijay was confirmed for the project, one of my assistants literally begged me to cast Nayantara in the film. His desire seems to be working wonderfully well and the film is shaping up very well’.

‘The film would start off in a pleasant way in a picturesque habitat and jovial manner with family, friends and lorry loads of fun. A gory incident takes place and the action begins. Vijay would be awesome in these scenes. Songs and fights have come out impressively and I am very happy with things’.

Talking about Nayantara in the film, Prabhu Deva gives a sneak peek of her introduction scene. ‘When you are running for cover after it starts raining and then you find a beautiful girl with an umbrella standing in the rain inviting you the share the umbrella with her, how would you feel?’ asks the director.

Well, Nayantara might just have to dance in the rain once again after ‘Kuuselan’.

When asked about Prabhu Deva’s Hindi remake of ‘Pokiri’ featuring Salman Khan, the expert dancer turned director says, ‘it has been about seven years since Salman had acted in an action packed film. He has performed extremely well and the movie is sure to be exciting’.

It is interesting to note that Prabhu Deva is directing Vijay for ‘Villu’ while his elder brother Raju Sundaram is directing Ajith in ‘Aegan’.

Villu Vijay doesn’t want Perarasu?

It has been 15 years ever since Vijay made his entry into tinsel town and today he is so successful donning roles that are suiting him. Glimpse back to the films, in most of them you would have spotted him playing the role of an unemployed youngster fighting against something evil in the society. At present shooting for the film Villu directed by Prabhu Deva, it happens to be his 48th film.

Soon after completing this film, he would gear up with the film produced by AVM Balasubramaniam of AVM Productions directed by debutant Babu Sekar. Babu Sekar was the one who penned dialogues for Vijay’s previous film ‘Kuruvi’. Well, his 50th film would be produced by his father S.A.Chandrashekar under the banner of V.V.Creation. Chandrashekar wanted to Perarasu to direct the film since he happens to be the one who churned consecutive hits with his son and set turning point in Vijay’s career.

But Vijay doesn’t want Perarasu to wield the megaphone, since he has decided to get the film directed by Prabhu Deva. He has determined in such a way that even if Villu doesn’t do well in the box-office, Prabhu Deva would be only person to direct his 50th film.
